TRACK AND FIELD
Faith West offers Track and Field to boys and girls at the high school and junior high levels. Our high school level competes in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) Class 3A. Our junior high level competes in the Houston Area Private Schools athletic league (HAPS).

PRACTICE INFORMATION
Junior High Schedule:
- Monday – 2:45 – 4:30 pm at Faith West (till 5:30 pm if we go to track)
- Tuesday – 2:45 – 4:30 pm at Faith West
- Wednesday – 2:45 – 4:30 pm at Faith West
- Thursday – 2:45 – 4:30 pm at Faith West
- Friday - 2:45 - 4:30 at Faith West
- Saturday – 8:00-10:00 am at Katy JH Track

- Make-up practice time with coach’s permission Wednesdays or Fridays 6:00-7:00 am
- We can tailor a schedule for multi-sport athletes also. A one-on-one parent/athlete meeting is needed with athletic director/coach

Running Rain Policy
Our rain policy is the following…we never (seldom) cancel practice. We run in light rain and we run inside if we hear any thunder. If the rain is pouring, we run inside at Faith West, in either the Gym or Annex Building. Worst case…we would lift weights in the Annex Building across the street at Faith West.
If cancellation occurs, we will endeavor to notify the parents by 1pm the day of cancellation via Remind App (and possibly email).
JH – Normally would have track during the last period and picked up during “Car Pool”, at 3:30 pm.
HS – Normally will have track practice and could finish by 4:45 pm.

- Warmups
- Dual Sports - This is allowed (Track/Softball or Track/Baseball). A schedule created, in advance, by both coaches and student/parent must be approved. A modified fee will also be arranged.
- Injury Release - If a runner misses 2 practices (or workouts) because of an injury, a note from the doctor is required before returning
- Unexcused absence - On the 2nd offense, a runner should not return to practices until they visit with the Athletic Director
