1. Any look that is sloppy or disheveled is unacceptable.
2. All clothing must not be immodestly tight.
3. Skirts and shorts for girls may be no shorter than four inches above the knee. Shorts for boys may be no shorter than four inches above the knee. Girls must wear shorts under their skirts; shorts should not be visible below the hem of the skirt or jumper.
4. Belts are to be in solid colors of black or brown and worn with pants/shorts designed with loops. No decorative attachments will be allowed on belts. Belts are not mandatory but should be worn when shirts are tucked in. Shirts may be left untucked and should be hip length.
5. Pants must be worn at the waist and not lower.
6. All undershirts must be white.
7. Shoes and Socks: House shoes/slippers, sandals, shoes with wheels, or shoes with open toes are not permitted. Footwear that resembles slippers in any way may not be worn. Tennis shoes with non-marking soles are needed for PE if other types of shoes are worn to school. Socks, tights, or leggings must be in school colors of white, red, navy, or black. Socks may be white, black, or school colors (red/navy, either solid or patterned). Elementary students will not be allowed to wear Crocs. Crocs present a safety hazard when students are playing on the playground.
8. Hair should be clean and neatly groomed. Boys’ hair should not fall below the eyebrows. No mohawks, dreadlocks, or unnatural hair. No adornments of any kind, including but not limited to, headbands, scarves, etc. Facial hair is not permitted. Sideburns can be no longer than earlobes. Girls’ hair: attachments (weaves, feathers, etc.) and unnatural hair colors are not permitted. Hair accessories must be tasteful and in school colors (red, white, navy, black). Hair accessories such as scrunchies should be worn in the hair, not as bracelets or anklets. Students will be given three days to receive a haircut after an infraction has been issued.
9. Jewelry and Earrings: Jewelry must be minimal and tasteful, such as small necklaces that are not a distraction or safety hazard on the playground. Male students may not wear earrings to school or school-sponsored activities. Female students may wear only three earrings per ear to school. Gauged spacers are not allowed. Visible rings or piercings on other parts of the body are not allowed.
10. Tattoos: FWA discourages the acquiring of tattoos as a statement or lifestyle choice. All tattoos and body writing must be covered during school hours.
11. Sweatshirts: Pullover or zipper sweatshirts worn in the classroom, cafeteria, playground, etc. must have the FWA logo and be purchased from the designated school uniform provider. A FWA polo shirt must be worn under sweatshirts. Sweatshirts cannot be oversized, sloppy, or worn below hip level. FWA jackets are acceptable. All other outerwear and heavy coats may be worn as weather appropriate, but must not be worn inside the buildings.
12. Wednesday Dress Code: Wednesday is Eagle Nation day. Students may wear the RED Eagle Nation shirt with jeans or uniform bottoms, or a red FWA polo with jeans. Other FWA t-shirts are not allowed.
13. Friday Dress Code: On Friday, students may wear ANY FWA t-shirt with uniform bottoms.
14. Hats and hoods may not be worn in the building during school hours. Exception: baseball caps may be worn during P. E. on the baseball field only.
15. A student enrolled midyear or during the semester will have no more than five school days to meet dress code requirements. Dress pants (preferably in khaki), skirts, dresses, and collared shirts will be acceptable on those days. Blue jeans will not be permitted.
16. Excessive, gang, or drug related jewelry must not be worn.
17. All students must wear FWA P. E. uniforms during P. E., athletic periods, and athletic practices. Shirts cannot be cut off at the sleeves or altered in any way.
18. Alterations to the uniform such as: slit hems in pants, cut shirt sleeves, holes in jacket cuffs, holes in pants, etc. will not be permitted. This does not apply to hems or necessary fitting alterations.
19. Whenever jeans are worn in school (special promotion blue jeans day, or Red-out Wednesdays, etc.), they may not have holes, frays, or patches. Jeans must always be blue denim.
20. Leggings: Girls leggings or tights must be PLAIN, no patterns, in red, white, navy, black, or nude. If boys choose to wear athletic leggings under their shorts, they must be black or white. Leggings must be FULL-LENGTH. Capri leggings or knee-length bike shorts are not acceptable.
21. The white Peter Pan collar blouse can ONLY be worn with the FWA jumper.
22. On jeans days, jeans must be denim in color with no rips or patterns. Black, gray, or other colored jeans are not allowed.
