Art News: The Art Department is pleased to announce the newly formed National Art Honor Society Chapter for Faith West Academy. Our board members are Isoke Craig, President; Kaitlyn Weaver, Vice President; Stephen Worman, Secretary/Treasurer; and Chase Fisher, Historian. The students are currently working on drawings for murals in the Library, Cafeteria, and Foreign Language/English/Art Hallway. Our students will be looking at an Art Mentoring Program for our elementary students to participate in, an Art Outreach Program for children at MD Anderson, as well as creating an Art Car for this year’s Houston parade. We are also looking for donations to help the NAHS with inspiring others through Art. If you are interested in supporting our projects please contact Fran Goundry for details.

PTO Helps With Christmas Gifts for Teachers: Many of us wish to give gifts to supplementary teachers such as PE, Music, Spanish,
Computer, Library, Band, Jr. High and Sr. High teachers, Coaches and Administrative personnel at FWA. However, this can become a financial burden on our budgets because many of us have more than one student at FWA . . . and they have multiple teachers! Due to this
situation, in recent years the idea of collecting money for gift certificates for these teachers and staff members has become an appropriate solution for many families. If you feel that this idea would simplify your family’s gift giving, the PTO would like to be of

Cinderella: The Faith West Academy Theatre Arts Department (including a cast of over seventy 8th-12th grade drama and choir students, plus technical theater crew) will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical Cinderella January 23-25, 2009, at the Faith West Academy Auditorium. Show times for Cinderella are Friday, January 23 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, January 24 at 7 p.m.; and a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday, January 25.  Doors open 30 minutes prior to performances. Tickets are $15 general admission for all performances.
